About Our Church
Our Mission
A Christian Community Spreading God’s Word Through Worship, Prayer, Study and Fellowship
About St. Peter’s
St. Peter’s Church, founded in 1838, is a parish of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Anglican Church in North America We are a part of the Anglican tradition- a worldwide fellowship of churches that trace their history to the Reformation in England.
About Our Worship
Since the time of Christ, HIs followers have marked each Sunday as a celebration of the Resurrection. In this celebration, called the Eucharist (literally, thanksgiving), there were Scripture readings, a sermon and the Holy Commuion. At St. Peter’s, we maintain this practice, believing that the Word and Sacrament together are foundational to the Christian life.
You will discover at St. Peter’s that our worship is Biblical and Spirit-filled. Our liturgy is designed to keep our focus on the Lord in praise, in hearing the Word of God, in prayer, and in thanksgiving and in meeting the Lord in Communion.
Why St. Peter’s Anglican Church?
We learn in Ephesians 5:1-2 that we cannot truly live the Christian life except in love and commitment to one another. The Christian life is not a private enterprise, it is lived out in God’s Church with one another. We invite you to join us as we seek to be faithful members of God’s family together. We are not perfect! We are sinners in need of a savior seeking to learn and grow in our knowledge and faith, together.
